Rossville Consolidated School District Working on School Improvement Plans

Rossville Elementary School Assistant Principal discuses school improvement efforts with the staff,
Rossville Elementary Staff reviewing the work of Equitable Education Solutions and the development of the Learning Priority Plan.

Rossville Consolidated School District teachers and administrators hit the ground running on their first day back for the second semester on January 8, 2024.  These educators met for an in-service professional day focusing on school improvement.

Rossville Consolidated School District has been working with Equitable Education Solutions (EES) on the development of a Learning Prioritization Plan (LPP). The plan utilized student performance data, an on-site visit that provided the opportunity for walkthroughs, focus groups from multiple stakeholders, and performance data to identify three key priority areas. The Board of Education was extremely pleased that a focused learning plan was being developed and appreciated the time and effort put into the project thus far.

The Board appreciated being on the leading edge of the rolling out of the plan. Dr. Hanna noted that the Board was to be first to offer their support, and they did so by voting to move forward at their December 12, 2023, meeting.

Rossville chose a Learning Prioritization Plan. The LPP will provide a vision for teaching and learning for the next three years. The LPP ensures a strong focus on three key areas. The LPP builds off Rossville’s strengths and was developed by representatives of every stakeholder group in Rossville.

The LPP will have shared ownership. Everyone will support implementation and progress monitoring goal attainment.

The Key Priority Areas (KPA) were developed and are the current focus of staff.  These included:

  • Enhancing K-12 STEM Education and Career Readiness,
  • Expanding the Science-based Literacy Continuum K-12, and
  • Creating a K-12 System of Collaboration and Data-informed Instruction with an Enhanced Learner-focused Culture

This is an exciting time at Rossville, where the staff will focus on continuous improvement in order to prepare our students for the future.  Rossville Schools continues to focus on developing program practices for students to thrive.
