The Rossville Hornets bested the Frankfort Hot Dogs by a score of 12-3 in the season opener for both squads.
After a scoreless first inning, the Hornets’ bats came alive, plating five in the second and three more between the third and fourth.
Rossville’s Brody Skinner and Ashton Abbott both went 2/3 at the plate and knocked in three runs each.
Eli Barnes earned the win on the mound. Barnes struck out six across three innings of work while giving up one unearned run.
For the Hot Dogs, Lalo Castillo paced the home team attack with two hits. Alex Lopez, Lucas Waggoner, and Kevin Lopez all scored in the loss.
The Hot Dogs will return to action on Saturday when they face Clinton Prairie at 11:00 a.m., while the Hornets are back on the diamond tonight against Western with first pitch at 5:30.
