The Rossville High School boys’ basketball team opened its season Wednesday night with a 46-37 loss at home to Harrison.
Trailing 11-10 after a quarter, Rossville was outscored 21-14 in the middle two quarters and trailed 32-24 going into the fourth quarter. The Hornets shot just 34.2 percent from the field in the game.
Dirk Shaw led Rossville with 11 points and six rebounds. Damon Shaw added nine points and Reid Douglas had five points and five rebounds.
Prairie Tops Rossville in Girls’ Basketball
Tynlie Neal scored 18 points and Emma McKinney added 13 as Clinton Prairie rolled past Rosville 47-22 Tuesday night in Jefferson.
Rebekah Lloyd had six points and a team-high seven rebounds for Prairie. Neal had a team-high five assists and Hannah Wilson led in steals with six.
Sammie Malson and Michelle Rodkey led Rossville with eight points apiece.
In the JV contest, Clairie Ecenbarger scored 13 points and Kaitlyn Beck added 10 to lead Prairie to a 38-14 victory over Rossville.
Frankfort Downs Eastern in Girls’ Swimming
Frankfort defeated Eastern in a girls’ swimming meet Tuesday night in Frankfort.
