A pair of Rossville wrestlers took home Semi-State Championships on Saturday at New Castle.
Jacob Weaver at 157 lbs. and Jacob Cole at 175 lbs. each swept through their brackets, taking first place and advancing to the State Championship.


Weaver remains undefeated on the year, while Cole has only dropped one match.
The Hornets sent four wrestlers to historic New Castle Fieldhouse to compete in the Semi-State Championships.
Alongside Weaver and Cole, Dallas Rosenbarger competed at 126, and Luke Weaver competed at 138.
Luke Weaver was defeated in the first round by major decision by Warren Central’s Donald Bowie, who went on to take second place. Weaver ends the season 35-5.
Rosenbarger won his first-round match, pinning Guerin Catholic’s Gabe Liechty in under a minute. Rosenbarger then faced Warren Central’s Jett McGuire and was defeated by major decision. Rosenbarger’s impressive freshman season comes to an end with a final record of 36-1.
Cole and Jacob Weaver will compete Friday and Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in the State Championship.
