Families seeking a strong start for their child’s educational journey will soon have an opportunity to see what makes Rossville Elementary School a standout choice. Rossville Elementary will host its annual Kindergarten Round-Up on March 5 and March 19, welcoming incoming students and their families for an introduction to the school community and its commitment to early learning success
The event, held in the school’s auditorium lobby, is designed to help families feel confident and informed as they prepare for kindergarten. Parents can schedule a reservation by contacting the elementary office, and children who turn five by August 1, 2026, are eligible to attend
While Kindergarten Round-Up focuses on welcoming new learners, it also reflects a broader story of achievement at Rossville Elementary School—one that continues to draw attention from families both inside and outside the district.
Academic Growth and Student Success
Recent student performance data highlights the school’s strong academic foundation. During the 2024–2025 school year, 95% of third-grade students demonstrated proficiency on the IREAD-3 assessment, meeting the state’s long-term goal two years early.
In addition, students in grades 3–5 showed growth and improved performance on ILEARN assessments in both math and English/language arts
Attendance, a key indicator of long-term student success, has also improved. More students are attending school at least 94% of the instructional year, placing Rossville Elementary well above the state average and reinforcing the school’s message that “every school day counts.”
A Supportive Learning Environment
School leaders emphasize that these outcomes are driven by strong partnerships between educators, families, and the community. Rossville Elementary promotes regular family communication, encourages daily reading at home, and invites parents to participate in school events and classroom activities, all of which help students thrive socially and academically
The school also prioritizes student wellness and service learning. Programs such as Jump Rope for Heart teach students the importance of healthy habits while supporting charitable causes, reinforcing the school’s focus on developing well-rounded learners
An Invitation to Families
With its emphasis on early literacy, consistent academic growth, and a welcoming school culture, Rossville Elementary continues to position itself as an excellent option for families considering a move or school transfer.
Kindergarten Round-Up offers families a first-hand look at the learning environment that has helped Rossville students succeed—and an invitation to join a school community focused on growth, partnership, and opportunity from day one.
