Rossville FFA Excels at Huntington University Soil Judging Contest

The Rossville FFA Soil Judging teams competed at the Huntington University Soil Judging Contest on October 18, showcasing their agricultural knowledge and judging skills.

Students traveled east of Huntington to the Brown Farm, where they evaluated four sites — two agricultural and two homesite locations. The event drew strong participation, with 50 FFA teams and 193 individual contestants.

Rossville’s top team delivered an outstanding performance, with Allison Wallace placing 3rd overall and Gracie McDonald finishing 8th. Teammates Alaina Jamison and Colton Crum rounded out the group, helping secure a qualification for the National Land and Homesite Contest in May.

Rossville’s second team also represented the chapter with pride, placing 21st overall. Members of that team included Isaac Thompson Smith, Lucas Bush, Evan McDonald, and Logan Schwartz.
