Rossville High School’s instrumental music program is celebrating an exceptional showing at this weekend’s ISSMA Instrumental Solo & Ensemble event, highlighted by outstanding individual performances and one student advancing to the state level.

Nine Rossville Middle/High School instrumental soloists participated in the event, and all nine earned Gold ratings, the highest distinction awarded by ISSMA. This achievement reflects a remarkable level of preparation, musicianship, and dedication from every participating student.

Among these performances, Olivia James competed at the Group I level and has qualified to advance to the ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Contest. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy, as it marks the first time in recent history that a Rossville High School instrumental student has advanced to the state level, setting a new milestone for the school’s instrumental music program.

ISSMA Gold ratings are awarded to performances that demonstrate superior technical accuracy, musical interpretation, and overall artistry. Achieving a Gold rating sweep across nine solo performances is an impressive feat for any school and speaks to the strength and consistency of Rossville’s instrumental program.

These results highlight the dedication of Rossville High School’s student musicians, who committed significant time and effort to individual practice and musical growth. Their success reflects not only individual talent but also the strong culture of excellence within the school’s instrumental music program.

Rossville Middle/High School is proud to recognize these students for their achievements and for representing their school with distinction at the district ISSMA level and beyond.
