Damon Shaw scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had four steals as Rossville defeated Seeger 69-39 Saturday night at Seeger.
Rossville led 17-14 after a quarter before the limiting the Patriots to just 14 points over the next two quarters.
Reid Douglas also reached double figures with 15 points. He also had seven steals and three assists. Austin Bray scored eight points, while Jessie Cornell and Kaleb Del Real had seven points each. Cornell also had seven rebounds and three steals.
The night before in Lafayette, the Hornets fell short to Harrison 66-63.
Shaw led the way with 17 points and six rebounds. Del Real was next with 11 and Cornell added 10.
Clinton Central Downs Attica
Clinton Central used a strong defensive effort to defeat Attica 42-34 in its home opener Saturday night in Michigantown.
Kyle Pickard led the defensive effort with 14 rebounds, including 12 on the defensive end, and five steals. Luke Davison added five boards and Logan Whiteman had four. Whiteman led the Bulldogs in scoring with nine points. Tyler Rayl and Koda Allen each had eight points, while Davison added seven.
Frankfort Wrestlers Capture County
Frankfort went 3-0 Thursday night to win the Clinton County championship and improving their record to 11-3 overall.
The Hot Dogs opened with a 72-11 victory over Rossville, followed that with a 66-18 triumph over Clinton Prairie and a 64-15 win over Clinton Central.
Erika Pillion, Armando Roa, Emma Pillion, James Ostler, Juan Campos, Nelson Honore and Charlie Garcia all went 3-0 for Frankfort.
Rossville Girls Down Tri-County
Madison Miller had 17 points and Kennedy Houser added nine as Rossville defeated Tri-County 46-39 Monday night in Rossville.
Corryn Geheb led the team in rebounds with eight, while Houser and Avery Gobett each had six.
Central Girls Fall to Tri-Central
Clinton Central fell short in a comeback effort against Tri-Central 52-49 Saturday afternoon on the road. Trailing 46-31 after three periods, Central outscored the home team 18-6 in the final quarter.
Addy Sheets led Central with 11 points. Kendall Davison, Sara Parkison and Sam Adams all had nine points. Davison led the team with 14 rebounds. Parkison had nine boards and Adams had eight.
On Thursday night, Central limited Frankfort to 11 points in the second half en route to a 62-32 victory in Michigantown.
Parkison led the way with a career-high 20 points and 13 rebounds. Davison had 16 points and a school-record 21 rebounds.
Clinton Central Swimmers Capture Victories
The Clinton Central boys’ and girls’ swimming teams finished first in a triangular meet against University High School and International School of Indiana on Thursday night. Central scored 153 points in both meets.
The boys had 11 personal bests. Cain Martin, Erik McCarty and Colton Payne led the team with two personal best each. Owen Kocher, Austin Orem, Owen Smith, Wreese Sheets and Espen McCarty each had one.
The girls finished with 13 personal bests with Isabelle Hendrickson and Carly Ellis leading the way with three personal bests apiece. Kylie Gilmore had two personal bests while Raelyn Albaugh, Averi Gilmore, Emmaleigh Snell, and Macie McQuinn each had one personal best.
