Rossville Schools Vocalists Shine At ISSMA Vocal Solo & Ensemble Contest

Rossville Schools shared the outstanding success of its students at the Indiana State School Music Association Vocal Solo and Ensemble contest over the weekend at Kokomo High School where nine solo performers and a trio ensemble represented the high school.

During the contest, every single student earned a prestigious gold rating, which stands as an accomplishment for veterans of the contest as well as those experiencing their first contest.

Rossville highlighted Kendall McCullough, who earned a gold rating in Group 1 to qualify for the State Contest in the coming weeks. Only students in Group 1 who receive a gold rating earn the opportunity to advance. Choir Director Jordan Buck shared his thoughts on the successes throughout the weekend.

“I am extremely proud of these students and their dedication to their music,” Buck said. “For many of them, this was their first time participating in a contest, and their hard work paid off. Their performances were a testament to their talent and the strength of Rossville’s music program.”

The contest allows students to demonstrate their vocal abilities in various categories from Group V, which is for newer voices, to Group 1, which is for more experienced singers. The following students participated and earned a gold rating this year:
