The quest continues for the Rossville Hornets as they claim another Regional Championship, their fourth straight, defeating Rochester 9-2 last night.
The Hornets put up one-run frames in the first and second before exploding for seven in the third. The Zebras got runs in the fifth and sixth but couldn’t muster more.
Avery Layton fired another gem in the circle, striking out 12 and allowing just three hits and two unearned runs.
Layton also helped herself at the plate, driving in two runs on two hits. Autumn Paschal collected two hits and two RBIs for the Hornets.
Rossville will head to Semi-State on Saturday in Kokomo, where they’ll take on Central Noble. The Cougars defeated South Adams 4-3 to win their Regional.
