When your children are asked what they did during summer vacation, what stories will they tell? For children in the Rossville Summer Child Care Program, the answer includes exciting adventures, new friendships, and unforgettable days, such as a recent trip to the Prophetstown State Park Aquatic Center.
The children spent the day exploring the center’s many attractions, including its water slides, splash area, pools,rc and lazy river. From racing down the slides to floating peacefully along the river and playing beneath the giant dumping bucket, the trip offered something exciting for children of all ages.
The Aquatic Center features a 30-foot tube slide, body flume, adventure channel, zero-entry pool and interactive water-play features, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. These attractions provided the perfect setting for a memorable summer outing filled with laughter, activity and friendship.
Throughout the day, the children encouraged one another to try new activities and made sure their friends were included in the fun. Some participants eagerly headed for the water slides, while others preferred relaxing in an inner tube or exploring the splash area. Whatever activities they selected, the children had opportunities to build confidence, practice cooperation and create lasting memories together.
After working up an appetite in the water, the group gathered for a picnic lunch. Everyone had a chance to slow down, talk about their favorite moments, and enjoy time together outside the water. Ice cream provided a cool and delicious ending to an already refreshing adventure.
