Rossville Wins Regional; Frankfort In Regional Final Monday

Rossville captured the Class A regional baseball championship Saturday night with a 15-3 triumph over Daleville at Carroll High School in Flora.

The victory moves the Hornets into next Saturday’s semi-state matchup against against Washington Township at either Plymouth or Kokomo. Game time is to be determined.

Rossville moved into the regional championship contest with a 4-3 victory over Riverton Parke in the regional semis earlier on Saturday. Daleville advanced with a 11-3 victory over Blue River Valley.

The Hornets advanced to regional play by defeating Sheridan 12-0 in the sectional final.

Frankfort is also still alive in the Class 3A regional at Crawfordsville. The Hot Dogs blanked Indian Creek 2-0 in the regional semis on Saturday to set up a regional title tilt against second-ranked Edgewood, which shutout Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter 4-0 in the other regional semifinal.

Mother Nature intervened and forced the regional final to be played at 6:30 p.m. Monday with the winner moving on to either Mooresville or Jasper to face Silver Creek, which won the Evansville Bosse Regional with a 5-3 triumph over Vincennes Lincoln, in semi-state action next Saturday.

Frankfort won its sectional by defeating Lebanon 5-4 in eight innings at North Montgomery.

A victory in the semi-state for either Rossville or Frankfort would advance them to Victory Field in Indianapolis to play for a state title.
