Rossville’s Noah Weaver Secures State Title Over #1 Ranked Brownsburg

Rossville’s Noah Weaver made history for Rossville by securing the state championship title in the 190-pound weight class after taking down opponents ranked highly during the tournament.

Weaver secured his victory by defeating the tournament’s #1 ranked wrestler from Brownsburg, Gunner Henry, after leaving a trail of victories behind him during the tournament, defeating #2 ranked Kaden McConnell of Center Grove in the quarter finals and #6 ranked Noah Terry of Tell City toward his road to victory.

Weaver concludes his season undefeated with a championship title and the designation of the first state champion for Rossville.

As Weaver celebrated his victory, which he won after losing a contact, leaving him nearsighted while facing his final opponent, he thanked his parents, coaches, wrestling partners and his faith for helping lead him to the first state wrestling title for Rossville.

“Honestly just feel really incredible right now–sorry, I’m kind of our of breath–but I just got to say I couldn’t have done this without support from my parents, my coaches and my brother, whose my wrestling partner for a lot of it and Jacob Cole because he’s up there too,” Weaver said. “I would also like to say one more thing. I couldn’t have done this without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If anyone–if any of you–want to know what he did in my life just come, talk to me  or come talk to my dad because we would love to jsut tell you all about him.”

Semi-Finals Win Report:

Rossville’s Noah Weaver has secured his position in the State Finals after securing victory over rank #6 Noah Terry of Tell City.

Weaver, son of 1995 Hot Dog Matt Weaver, will strive to secure the state title as a junior by taking on Brownsburg’s Gunner Henry.

Weaver secured his win with a pin against Terry. Weaver will face off against #1 ranked Henry of Brownsburg for the 190-pound weight class State Champion title.

The Frankfort Eagles Lodge #976 will be hosting a watch party tonight starting at 7 p.m. for the match.

Rossville’s Noah Weaver has secured his progression to the semi-finals at the 2024 State Finals in the 190-pound weight class after a 6-1 decision over Kaden McConnell of Center Grove in the quarter finals.

Weaver came into the state finals ranked number 5 in the state with a record of 46-0 and defeated Terry Dunning before facing McConnell, who is ranked number 2 in the state. Weaver will face off against Noah Terry of Tell City in the semi-finals, who is ranked number 6.

The winner of the match will face off against the winner of the match between Gunner Henry of Brownsburg, ranked number 1, and Elias Cressell of Wabash, ranked number 20, in the grand finals.

Weaver will reportedly be facing off on mat three for the semi-finals.
