Ruby Edna Ferguson

Ruby Edna Ferguson, 87, of Mulberry, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home in Mulberry.  She was born in Edmonton, Kentucky on July 9, 1934, to Jesse and Gertrude (England) Garmon. She married Harold “Shorty” Ferguson on July 5, 1968, at the Mulberry United Methodist Church.

Ruby attended school in Edmonton, Kentucky and later moved to Mulberry. She worked for National Cigar in Frankfort, Andover’s and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, and the  Lutheran Home in Mulberry. She and her husband were the owner and operators of Ferguson Insulation for 19 years. Ruby enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, attending her children and grandchildren’s ballgames, and just spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Ruby is survived by her children, Carol McDole of West Lafayette, Doug (Connie) Whitlock of Frankfort, Ruth (Jim) House of Lafayette, Rick (Beverly) Whitlock of Mulberry, and Tammy (Kyle) Stone of Lafayette; sisters, Bessie Jackson of Vale, Oregon and Mary (Bill) Fultz of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Annie May Garmon; sister, Joyce (Stanley) Ferguson; and brothers, Don (Jeannie) Garmon and LC (Carol) Garmon.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel 204 N. Glick Street in Mulberry. Private family burial will be in the Fair Haven Cemetery.
