Ruth J. Pearcy, 96, of Frankfort, died Dec. 13, 2017, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community. She was born April 22, 1921, in Lebanon to Elza and Ruby (Harley) Harmon. She married Karl E. Pearcy on May 26, 1941, in Jeffersonville, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1972.
Ruth was a 1939 Graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked for Mallory Controls, Thrashers, Frankfort Country Club, and was a cost analyst at Coastal States Oil & Gas Company in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort. She enjoyed reading, dancing, being “Zippy” the clown, fishing, camping and gardening. She loved her family and all furry and feathery animals.
She is survived by her daughters, Marsha L. Crose of Lafayette, Karla “Penny” Dirbas of Frankfort, Jane K. (Richard) Marslender of Rockport, Texas, and Robin K.S. (Ronnie) Gunn of Auga Dulce, Texas; sisters, Marybelle Yager of Padre Island, Texas, and Betty Jean Beck of Kokomo; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Eads, a sister, Arnetta Kaufmann; and brother, Charles Harmon.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at
Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Visiting will be at 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at the funeral home. Father Chris Miller will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
