Sallie A. Sheridan

Sallie Anne Sheridan, 82, Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at IU Health Frankfort Hospital with loved ones by her side.  She was born on April 30, 1935 in Frankfort, IN to Basil & Rubie (Redman) Jacobs.  She and her older brother, John (Jack), were raised in Frankfort.  Sallie was very fond of her hometown, heritage, and friends.  She was a graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Ball State University.

Sallie married Jackson Sheridan, also of Frankfort, and moved to California, where their son, Mark, was born. Sallie was an independent woman working for various electronics companies before joining the Air Force civilian service as a Technical Service Officer.  Sallie lived in California until her later years of life, when she returned home to Frankfort.

Sallie enjoyed life and people.  She was amused to go against the grain, had a great sense of humor, a strongly voiced opinion, and a contagious laugh.  She became a friend to anyone around her and spent life with friends and a daschund by her side.  Some of her favorite things in life were traveling, cruising in her car, eating catfish, playing cards, bowling, being at the pool, being with her grandchildren, son, and her beloved friends.  She belonged to the Women of the Moose, Lodge #7, Clinton County Extension Homemakers, volunteered at the local hospital as a Pink Lady, and attended the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Mark Sheridan of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren, Kathleen (Eric) Siebrands of Prior Lake, MN, Melissa (Anson) Sutherland of Higginsville, MO, Matthew Sheridan of Fargo, ND, and Daniel (Sydney) Sheridan of Abilene, TX; friends, Tony and Pam Wilhite, with whom she made her home; and three great grandchildren, Mason, Myla, and Brooke. A Celebration of Life is being planned for spring.  Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers and to honor Sallie’s interests, the family is requesting memorials be made to the American Foundation for the Blind or to the Clinton County Historical Society. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, is honored to assist the family with arrangements.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com to share a message or send a condolence to the family.
