Sam Caldwell, 74, of Greentown, went home to be with our Lord, September 16, 2021, after a short battle with Covid. Sam was born August 14, 1947, in Frankfort, the only child of the late Herb and Rosemary Caldwell.
After serving two years in the U.S. Army, Sam began working at Chrysler and retired after more than 37 years. He also worked for seven years as a crop adjuster with Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Sam spent the last several years devoted to his wife and daughter. He was a gentle soul with a servant’s heart to all that knew him. He enjoyed his hobby and competition in radio controlled auto racing and met many friends in the RC Cars that will miss him.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Paula, and his daughter, Margaret Caldwell, both of which he adored and loved. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Brenda Lipscomb and her husband, John, of Birmingham, Alabama; nephew, Champ Brendan Clark, of Indianapolis; niece, Betsey Williams and her husband, Paul, and grand-nephews, James Paul and Johnny Mac Williams; and nephew, Andrew Clark and his wife, Stephanie, all of Birmingham, Alabama. He will also be missed by his many cousins.
Rest in peace Samuel Craig Caldwell.
Graveside services were held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Pastor David Stokes officiated. Messages of condolences may be left online at www.hasler-stout.com.
