Sarah L. Webb, 87, of rural Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Clinton House Rehab & Health Center.
Sarah was born March 9, 1936, in Michigantown, to Russell A. “R.A.” and Shirley (Dawald) Newell. On February 4, 1954, Sarah married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Webb. They were married 62 years when he passed away June 27, 2016.
After graduating from Michigantown High School, Sarah worked at the family business, Newell Gas & Appliance, in Michigantown. In 1979, Sarah began driving a school bus for Clinton Central School Corporation, until her retirement in 2005.
Sarah was a member of Michigantown Christian Church where she was very active in earlier years. She was also a very active member of the Michigantown Community Club and the planning and running of the Michigantown Fair.
Family members who will be missing Sarah include her daughter Linda (Joe) Ray of Michigantown; her son, Arthur “Art” Webb of St. Louis, MO; brother, Mark (Nina) Newell of Michigantown; brother-in-law, Jay McKinney; sister-in-law, Marilyn Webb Slipher Somsel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, son, Rodney “Rod” Webb, and sister, La Rose “Rosie” McKinney.
