Semi Truck Fire Stalls Traffic Early Tuesday Morning In Clinton County

The Indiana State Police and Indiana Department of Transportation addressed the situation involving a semi truck fire along Interstate 65 in Clinton County that stalled early-morning traffic beginning at the 156-mile marker.

According to the departments, all lanes reopened around 7:30 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, July 2 following immediate response from first responders after receiving reports of semi truck fire near the 156-mile marker were received.

Initially all northbound and southbound lanes were initially closed from the Frankfort to Thorntown exits of Interstate 65 as the situation was addressed with southbound lanes reopening around 5 a.m. and northbound lanes reopening around 2.5 hours later. Community members reported stalled traffic throughout the morning as traffic began to flow once more into the morning commute hours.

The Indiana State Police reported that despite the serious situation that required the closure of the lanes, no further injuries were reported.
