Senior “Prank” At Clinton Central Not Funny

A senior prank had Clinton Central Jr./Sr. High School closed today. Superintendent Jeremy Fewell says a group of seniors broke into the school late Sunday night and covered the hallways with baby oil. The oil caused slip and fall concerns in making the school unsafe. Custodians couldn’t clean up the mess in time for school to start, so bus drivers took students back home for the day. Fewell says he hopes the school can reopen tomorrow. Administrators are pulling possible security video of the pranksters. The case is considered vandalism and is under investigation.

Clinton County Daily News has learned that over 54 years ago, in about 1968, 5 or 6 Clinton Central students reportedly vandalized the school with “fire extinguishers in the gym” and glass damage at Clinton Central.   The result at that time ended in several student expulsions and damage costs paid by the families of the “pranksters”.  One of the pranksters allegedly had the lead in the Clinton Central High School play and his leading role “had to be replaced on short notice by another student”.  The play came off “without a hitch”.
