On January 24, 2026, at approximately 11:34 a.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to
a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 75 and State Road 47 in Thorntown, IN.
The collision involved a 2014 white Honda CR-V driven by Derek Crews, 43, of West Lafayette and a 2011
gray Ford F-150 driven by Brian Bell, 44, of Crawfordsville. Donita Bell, 43, of Crawfordsville was a
passenger in the Ford F-150.
All occupants involved in the collision sustained serious bodily injuries and were transported to a local
hospital for treatment.
Due to the nature of the injuries and circumstances surrounding the crash, the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team
(FACT) was contacted to assist with the investigation. The incident remains under investigation at this
time.
