Seven Candidates File for Two Spots on Prairie School Board

With the deadline filing period over at noon Friday for those with intentions to run for school boards in the four county schools, the Clinton Prairie School Corporation definitely took center stage as a total of seven individuals filed for two open seats.

In District 17, which is Washington Township, incumbent Mike McGraw filed to run as did three challengers — Robert Allen, Denise Goodman and Cindy Neal. For the at-large spot, incumbent and board president Tim Snyder filed as did two challengers — Travis Kelley and Michael ‘Joey’ Stillwell.

In the Community Schools of Frankfort, current board members Kristin Beardsley (District 4) and Mark Sheets (District 6) both filed to run again. However, board president Sandy Miller and board member Jeff Tatum, whose terms are up, did not file to run again.

Two board members filed to run in the Clinton Central School Corporation — board president Katie Evans Cohee (Sugar Creek District 12) and Kirklin Township District 10 representative Gina Crenshaw. Board member Matt McQuinn did not file for re-election. Both Bryce Eaton and Craig Sheets filed for at-large positions.

In the Rossville Consolidated Schools, incumbents Joe Mink (at-large) and Nathan Root (District 18) both filed for re-election.

The Community Schools of Frankfort and Clinton Central both have seven-member school boards, while Clinton Prairie and Rossville each have five-member boards.
