Today marks the beginning of the distributions of the Free Kids Sack Lunches for Summer Break at the Shalom House with numerous locations across Boone County.
The distributions will take place today, Monday, June 3 as well as June 10, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22 and July 29.
Parents of Boone County school-age kids are welcome to pick up a week’s worth of take-home lunches and breakfasts for spring break, and no application or registration is required. Community members are required to bring a photo identification or a proof of residency to receive the lunches. Every bag contains five entrees, five snacks, five fruits and vegetables, a box of cereal, milk voucher and a choice of book.
No deliveries are available.
“Come and get a week’s worth of take-home lunches and breakfasts at any location below,” the organization released. “See you soon. Rain or shine. All are welcome.”

- Southside Park Soccer Shelter at 705 Maple Dr. in Lebanon (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Whitestown Fire Station at 2965 575 E. in Whitestown (5 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Advance Fire Station at 106 E. Wall St. in Advance (5 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Zionsville The Rail Apartments Office at 1380 Saylor Dr. in Zionsville (5 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
- The Giving Tree in Jamestown (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
