Judy Sheets, who is the Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Frankfort, has announced Thursday she is putting her name in for the caucus for Mayor.
“This is something that I have always wanted to do and I feel with my experience and knowledge, I have a lot to offer to the citizens of Frankfort,” said Sheets. “Serving as Clerk-Treasurer for the past 12 years I have been very engaged in the day to day operations along side the Mayor.”
Previously, Sheets worked 29 1/2 years for the Frankfort Police Department.
“I am committed to this community and I will continue to dedicate my efforts in serving the citizens of Frankfort,” said Sheets. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve as the City of Frankfort Mayor.”
The Mayor’s position opened Tuesday when Mayor Chris McBarnes announced he was resigning at the end of February to take a position as the executive director of The Wyldlife Fund in Wyoming. McBarnes was just beginning his third term as Mayor.
