Sheridan Hires Jake Chesney As New Football Coach

Sheridan announced the hiring of Jake Chesney as the new head football coach for the Blackhawks.

Chesney served as an assistant for two years and was promoted to associate head coach midway through the 2024 season. He played for four years at Sheridan before going on to play football at Trine.

Chesney replaces long-time head coach Bud Wright and will take over a program coming off a 7-6 season that saw them win a sectional championship before falling to South Putnam in regionals.

The hire marks the first new head coach at Sheridan in nearly 60 years.
