Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Two Indianapolis Men on I-65

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling I-65 in Clinton County. Deputies, along with a Sheriff K9 unit initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle traveling northbound.

After a positive K9 alert on the vehicle, a subsequent search resulted in the discovery of multiple controlled substances, marijuana and over $22,000 in cash.

The driver, Lonnie Wooden, 27, of Indianapolis was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Driving While Suspended-Prior. The passenger, William King, 33, of Indianapolis was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.

“Our Deputies continue to show exemplary service to the community,” said Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly. “We will continue to utilize our assets and training to the best of our abilities to remove illegal narcotics and other dangerous items from our roadways. Well Done!”

This investigation is ongoing.

Formal charges are pending from the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
