Sheriff’s Office Looking for Man on Arrest Warrant

Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Joe Mink released a statement Thursday morning on the situation that happened near Rossville.

At 4:46 p.m. Wednesday, deputies of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office went to the 7000 block of State Road 39 North to serve a felony warrant on 37-year-old Matthew J. Gilbert. At the scene, it was determined that SWAT should be involved. After checking the home and property, the suspect was not located.

If anyone knows Gilbert’s location, they are urged to contact your local police. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office believe him to be armed. Everyone is urged to use caution.

Because of the situation, the Sheriff’s Office asked people near Rossville to stay inside their home while they searched for Gilbert. As of 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Gilbert was reported still on the loose. The Sheriff’s Office added that the scene had been cleared, but he has not been arrested.
