Detective Lieutenant Jerrad Blacker and Deputy Dennis Tillman responded to an unresponsive subject on I-65 that originated from an erratic driving complaint Thursday.
Detective Blacker jumped a fence from a parallel location to the interstate to render aid to the driver of a hospital transport van. He determined the driver was having a medical emergency. A wheelchair bound female was in the back, calling 911 for help and attempting to get the driver to pull over for assistance.
Deputy Tillman arrived on scene to assist, as well as Clinton County EMS and Frankfort Fire Squad 1. Deputies stayed with Miss “Alice” until another transport van was available to complete her trip. We commend Miss Alice for potentially saving, not only her own life, but the life of the driver and other motorists on the roadway.
