Shirley A. Ferry, 68, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born January 21, 1949, in Shawneetown, Ill., to James and Nellie Mosby Clevenger. On January 21, 1979, Shirley married Bill Ferry in Lafayette; together they shared almost 39 years together. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2018.
In 1967, Shirley graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette. Shirley was a homemaker and had worked as a manager at various restaurants. She participated with the Hog Nuts Motorcycle Club. Shirley enjoyed quilting, sewing, and collecting porcelain dolls.
Shirley is survived by her children, Shawn (Donna) Ferry, of Hobart, Sissy (Rick) Ferry, of Ft. Myers, FL, Sharon King, of Burrows, James Rogers, of Florida, Shawn Rogers, of Georgia, and Shane (Tina) Ferry, of Alabama; brothers, Frank (Betty) Clevenger, of Hillsboro, and Billy (Joni) Clevenger, of Wisconsin; 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Alan Clevenger and John Clevenger; and sister, Irene Ficker.
A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Wea Ridge Baptist Church, 1051 E 430 S, Lafayette, IN, 47909, with Rev. Ross Terry officiating. Memorials in Shirley’s name may be made to help the family defray expenses.
