Shirley (Hobbs) Kennedy

Shirley Kennedy, 78, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family. She was born in Greene County on August 8, 1946, to Everett and Bertha (Weaver) Hobbs. She married Ronald Kennedy on November 30, 1979, and he survives.

Shirley was a 1964 graduate of Linton High School. She worked for Sunoco/Crellin for 26 years until her retirement in 2004. She was a former member of American Indian Council. She was a very crafty person and known for her seed bead work. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, basket weaving, and sewing.

Along with her husband of 44 years, Shirley is survived by her sons, Karl (Diane) Watson, Tim (Nancy) Kennedy, Keith Kennedy, David (Eileen) Watson, Jay (Leigh) Watson and Ronald Kennedy, Jr.; daughters, Valerie (Jim) Scott and Shannon (Carol) Scudder; brothers, Don and Bob Hobbs; twin sister, Sharon Moore; 34 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Sanders; and a brother, Ronald Hobbs.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
