Short Pursuit Leads to Drug Arrest on I-65

At approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday, Troopers with the Indiana State Police were involved in a short vehicle pursuit leading to multiple drug and traffic arrest.

Shortly before 8 p.m, Trooper Michael Risley of the Lafayette District, observed a passenger vehicle traveling south bound at 89 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County. Trooper Risley got behind the vehicle, which was identified as a black 2007 Chevrolet Malibu and activated his emergency lights. Following a short vehicle pursuit near the SR 43 exit, the vehicle pulled over near the 177MM south bound. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Trooper Risley could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Trooper Risley identified the female driver as Jazyne T.A. Andrews-Woods and the male passenger as Christopher DaRon Davis.

A subsequent search of the vehicle would result in the detection of approximately 204 grams of methamphetamine and 15 grams of marijuana. Jazyne T.A. Andrews-Woods and Christopher Da Ron Davis were taken into custody. Once at the jail, an unidentified pill was located in the possession of Jazyne T.A. Andrews-Woods. Both suspects were booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail. Andrews- Woods was charged with the following: Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Dealing Marijuana, and Possession of a Legend Drug. Davis was charges with the following: Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Dealing Marijuana.
