Shots Fired Report Results In Arrest Of Frankfort Man Monday Evening

On April 14, just before 8:45 p.m., Frankfort Police Department officers were reportedly dispatched for a report of a man with a gun and shots fired in the area of Washington Street and Young Street in Frankfort. The male was located and detained without further incident, authorities state.

An investigation by officers found that Jacob Heinrichs, 21, of Frankfort had allegedly fired several shots into the sidewalk and ground in the area.

On April 15, the Clinton County Prosecutor charged Heinrichs with possession of cocaine, Level 5 Felony, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, Level 6 Felony, battery by bodily waste on a public safety officer, Level 6 Felony, public intoxication that endangers the life of another, misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia to introduce a controlled substance into the body, misdemeanor.

“The fast response from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and FPD officers resulted in a quick apprehension of Heinrichs,” stated Frankfort Police Chief Scott Shoemaker. “His intoxication level resulted in extreme behavior that put the public and officers/deputies at risk. I am grateful for the professionalism shown by all law enforcement officers during this serious incident even when one of the deputies was spit on.”
