With approximately one more block to finish on First Street, crews will finish digging out sidewalks, pour concrete on First Street to South Street and then move on to Myrtle Avenue by next Tuesday and Wednesday, Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe announced.
“Weather permitting, crews will then work on the long stretch of Myrtle from Jefferson Street to Kyger Street. Our team will place no parking signs up and down Myrtle Avenue on Monday in advance of the sidewalk crews beginning their work in the area on Tuesday.
“We are asking drivers and residents along Myrtle to adhere to the signs and appreciate everyone’s cooperation so the sidewalk improvements can be done as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible,” Forsythe said.
