The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for southeastern Tippecanoe, Clinton, northern Boone and northeastern Montgomery counties until 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
At 4:25 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm nine miles south of Lafayette, moving east at 30 mph. Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 55 mph will be possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include Lafayette, Frankfort, Rossville, Shadeland, Thorntown, Dayton, Mulberry, Kirklin, Linden, Colfax, Clarks Hill and Michigantown.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
