Single Vehicle Crash Kills One, Injures Two Friday Morning

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was called to a crash Friday morning in the 5500 East block on State Road 26 near the intersection of State Road 26 and State Road 29 in Middlefork. When deputies arrived, the vehicle had hit a tree on the north side of State Road 26 and was on fire.

Fire units from Michigantown and Forest worked on the vehicle fire. When the fire was extinguished, the driver was found in the vehicle and was pronounced dead by the Clinton County Coroner. An adult female and juvenile were also in the vehicle. Both of them were taken to Indianapolis hospitals.

At this time, the vehicle nor occupants have been identified as most evidence on the scene was destroyed by the fire. State Road 26 was closed for approximately four hours until responders were able to clear the scene.
