On Monday, June 26, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block east on State Road 32 for a single-vehicle accident with entrapment.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 2004 red Ford Ranger driven by Charles Watterson, 68 years old, of Zionsville, that had struck a telephone pole and was facing east in the westbound lanes. Watterson was extricated from the vehicle and taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The extent of Watterson’s injuries are unknown at this time.
The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was requested for assistance. This incident is under investigation at this time and updates will be provided when available.
