At approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Boone County Sheriff Deputies responded to a multivehicle accident involving six vehicles on US 52, in the area of County Road 300 N, Lebanon.
Upon deputies’ arrival, it was found that a beige Ford Excursion had rear ended a silver KIA Sorento due to stop or slowed traffic on US 52 southbound. As a result of the initial impact, four additional vehicles ended up rear ending one another.
The driver of the Kia Sorento, Patrick Donovan, 72 years old, of Indianapolis, was transported to a nearby medical facility to be treated for his injuries. It was later reported to the BCSO that Mr. Donovan had passed away due to his injuries from the incident.
The BCSO FACT Team is investigating this incident. Drugs and/or alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor.
