The Rossville Lady Hornets busted through the Tecumseh Braves defense in the bottom of the sixth inning to score the two runs necessary to secure their first State Championship with a score of 2 to 1.

The Tecumseh Braves pulled ahead early against the Rossville Lady Hornets as a single followed by two stolen bases and a sacrifice hit for the second out of the inning scored one runner. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Hornets kicked their bats into gear with multiple hits to the outfield that resulted in two RBIs, bringing the Hornets to a lead of 2 to 1 heading into the seventh inning.

Two strikeouts and a pop fly to centerfield from the Tecumseh Braves ended the game and brought the Hornets home with their first State Championship title in school history.

Throughout the game, the Hornets did not have trouble placing girls on base, moving runners to third base or having the bases loaded in multiple innings, but the pressure of the largest stadium the girls had played in for their high school careers culminated in a runner being left on base almost every inning leading up to their two-out rally in the sixth.

Rossville Hornets State Championship Stats:
