Another new restaurant has officially come to the City of Frankfort as Slabby’s Food and Freedom had its ribbon cutting Thursday just before the lunch crowd came in.

“I just think it’s a great honor for Frankfort, that he chose Frankfort, and that he’s bringing it here,” said Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shan Sheridan. “It’s been a dream of his to have his own restaurant. It’s great to see that happen.”

Slabby’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is located in the Old Smoke Shop building right next to the railroad tracks on Main Street in downtown Frankfort.

Sheridan also said Slabby’s is a great opportunity and a great destination for Frankfort.

“When you think all the restaurants we have around the square, when you think about the products we have to offer, larger cities don’t even offer some of the fare that we have,” said Sheridan.
