The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a speed limit reduction that will affect State Road 39 in Mechanicsburg beginning next week.
Beginning on or after Monday, April 14, crews are expected to begin installing new signs that will lower the speed limit from 50 to 45 miles per hour through the town of Mechanicsburg between State Road 39 just south of Sugar Creek to south of County Road 800 North. Outside of the new posted speed limit, the limit will change back to 45 miles per hour again.
At this time, work is not anticipated to cause delays or lane closures in the area. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. INDOT encourages drivers to be aware of the change and to reduce their speed while traveling through this area, in an effort to keep safety top of mind.
