The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a speed limit reduction on State Road 75 on the south end of Thorntown beginning next week.
Beginning on or after Monday, April 14, crews are expected to update signage between Washington Street and just south of the Thorntown Fire House to reflect the new limit. The current 40 miles per hour speed limit will be reduced to 30 miles per hour in the location, and INDOT crews will be replacing the current school zone signage by Thorntown Elementary School to reflect the hours in which the school zone limit will be enforced.
At this time, the work is not expected to cause delays or lane closures in the area. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. INDOT encourages drivers to be mindful of the new speed limit and to travel with caution through this area.
