SR 26 Project in Clinton County Set to Begin in Early April

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the State Road 26 pavement rehabilitation project in Clinton County from approximately Rossville to Russiaville is set to begin April 1.  The first section of S.R. 26 scheduled to close on or after Thursday, April 1 is from just over one half of one mile east of Rossville to S.R. 75.  The official detour utilizes U.S. 421 to S.R. 18 to S.R. 75 and back. This section is scheduled to be closed until June 7, reopen and then close again July 10 through August 17 of this year.

Rieth-Riley Construction Co. was awarded the $27.2 million contract. The project includes increasing lane widths, providing roadside shoulder with portions to be paved, improving drainage, modifying or replacing culverts, installing rumble striping, improving existing sidewalks, adding a turn lane at the intersection of S.R. 26 at S.R. 75 and other safety enhancements.  This project is scheduled to be completed by early fall of 2024.
