Update: As of 12 p.m., the suspect has been pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Road 28 is closed just east of I-65 in Clinton County due to police activity involving a pursuit of a homicide suspect from Ohio who has reportedly stopped at a gas station.
Earlier this morning, reports were received of a possible homicide suspect out of Ohio traveling northbound on I-65 in a dark-colored Chevy cruise with the license plate Ohio JST345. An active pursuit followed at the 149 mile-marker on I-65.
Around 10:30 a.m., officers were staged from mile-markers 133 to 147 in Clinton County, and Boone County authorities have been dispatched to assist Indiana State Police and Clinton County agencies with the situation.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and the suspect was reported to be holding a gun to her head before stopping at a gas station as a high-risk traffic stop was initiated.
The suspect was reportedly not responding to commands, and Lebanon authorities were dispatched for shield while bean bag rounds were deployed to knock out windows.
A recent update stated that shots were fired by suspect and police.
Authorities are reportedly awaiting the shields from Lebanon authorities before moving up to the vehicle as of 11:25 a.m.
SWAT teams have also been dispatched as of 11:35 a.m.
A drone has been deployed to look inside the vehicle as of 11:40 a.m.
As of 11:53, a BearCat vehicle has been deployed and is approaching the vehicle.
