St. Matthew Community Preschool Celebrates 50 Years of Service

St. Matthew Community Preschool is marking a major milestone in 2026 as it celebrates 50 years of serving local families and children.

What began as a small initiative by St. Matthew United Methodist Church—with just a handful of children attending morning classes two days a week—has grown into a thriving early childhood program. Today, the preschool serves 183 families through a variety of offerings, including morning and afternoon preschool sessions and full-day programs with childcare for infants through age five across two campuses.

To commemorate the anniversary, the preschool is inviting former and current families, staff members, and community supporters to a special celebration event.

The event will take place Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. at St. Matthew UMC, located at 1951 Wilshire Drive in Frankfort.

The milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the preschool’s growth and the strong community support that has sustained it over the decades. The preschool also expressed appreciation to families and residents throughout Clinton County for their role in the program’s continued success.

The celebration will honor the preschool’s history while looking ahead to its future in early childhood education.
