With the approval of the St. Matthew Preschool Board and St. Matthew Administrative Council, St. Matthew Preschool announced that with the financial support from United Way for Clinton County, the church will be opening an offsite preschool known as St. Matthew Preschool West.
The preschool announced that it will lease the basement of Cornerstone Assembly of God church located at 5641 W. Mulberry Jefferson Rd. in Frankfort to expand its services to another side of the community.
United Way will provide the funding to renovate the area and provide furnishings and supplies necessary to launch the preschool and childcare center while St. Matthew Preschool will oversee the daily operations.
“The need for all-day preschool/childcare and infant care is great in our community, especially in the industrial park area,” the preschool released. “This expansion aims to meet some of those needs while providing excellent care for children and sharing the faith of Jesus Christ with young families.”
Director of Children’s Ministries Mary Kay Baker released a sentiment regarding the opportunity.
I ask your prayers for St. Matthew Preschool staff and our ministry leaders involved in this exciting expansion. There is much work to be done, and at times, it can seem overwhelming. Still, I am reminded of what Paul said to the church of Ephesus while he was in prison, Ephesians 3:20-21, “20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” When we let go of what we know and can do ourselves and then put our faith in God, we realize that God can do far more than we can on our own; praise be to God!
