Stanley Wayne Crum, 76
Stanley (Stan) W. Crum, 76 of West Lafayette, Indiana, died at his home and went to be with the Lord at 2:25 a.m., on Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was born October 24, 1947, in Frankfort, Indiana, the son of Wayne E. and Wilma A. Robertson Crum. On July 7, 1968, he married Nancy C. Davis; she survives.
Stan was a 1966 graduate of Clinton Central High School and moved to Tippecanoe County after high school and remained there the rest of his life. He joined the Indiana Army National Guard in 1966 and served as a medic in the Company A 113th Medical Battalion until October of 1972. Stan graduated from Chicago Technical College with a degree in Graphic Arts in 1967 and Purdue University in 1992 with an Associates Degree in Supervision.
Stan enjoyed traveling and could boast that he and his wife had visited all 50 states, but he especially enjoyed staying in Siesta Key for a while each winter during retirement. He also enjoyed photography and taking videos, especially of their vacations, Crum Reunions and other family gatherings. Other enjoyments were farming, yardwork, woodworking and being Nancy’s “fix-it” man.
Stan worked for Purdue University in several different positions, but was a project manager during his last years there. He came in contact with projects in most buildings on campus during his 38 year career at Purdue.
He attended Evangelical Covenant Church in Lafayette.
In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by his children Renae (Craig) Kollen of Ft. Wayne and Stacy (Jeremy) Shell from Cincinnati; 6 grandchildren, Graham, Jake and Corinne Kollen and Jared, Carly and Corey Shell, two sisters, Susanne (Susie) Crum from Forest, and Jeanine (Tim) Garrison of Frankfort, brother-in-laws Larry (Becky) Davis and Eric (Gayla) Davis from Kirklin, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Stacey Littlefield will officiate.
