State Police Investigating Shooting of Walton Man

The Indiana State Police, at the request of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, is investigating a police involved shooting in which a Walton, IN, man died.

The preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Josh Maller revealed Saturday morning, at approximately 4 a.m., officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call at 612 Carol Drive, Walton, IN. The caller reported that one of the home’s occupants, William Pollard, 45, was allegedly stabbing himself with a knife. When deputies arrived at the Carol Drive home, there was an incident that led to officers shooting Pollard. Despite life saving measures by responding paramedics, Pollard succumbed to his injuries.
