Stephen Wrex Cook, 71, of Frankfort, died Sunday, March 12, 2023, surrounded by his family in Indianapolis after battling a long illness.
Born December 8, 1951, to the late Thelma (Eichenberry) Cook and George W. Cook in Frankfort, Stephen graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1970. He married Carolyn (Clark) Cook in 1982, who survives. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last year.
Stephen worked for a variety of businesses in Frankfort, including 15 years with Frito Lay in Packaging and Processing.
He was an avid bowler with his family and friends, serving as president of the local association and founding the youth league in Frankfort.
He was a passionate Green Bay Packers and Notre Dame sports fan, but no team came before his New York Yankees. He also loved films of all genres (especially Westerns), music (particularly 60s and 70s rock), and was a talented artist.
Surviving with his wife, Carolyn, are his son, Joshua Cook, and his daughter, Carrie Cook.
Visitation will be held, Friday, March 17, 2023, from 4pm until the sharing of memories at 6pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Memorial contributions may be made on Stephen’s behalf to the Special Olympics. Online condolences may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
