Stepping On Stigma 5K Races Off Tomorrow At 10 a.m. At TPA Park

The Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition Annual Stepping on Stigma 5K is set for tomorrow, May 11 beginning at 10 a.m. to help raise awareness for mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Stepping on Stigma will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 at TPA Park in Frankfort where community members will race off in an effort to raise awareness for mental health in the community. This year, Healthy Communities has reported record-breaking numbers for participants that have registered for the event, and more registrations may be pouring in prior to the start of the race.

For those who have registered, bags containing their bib number and goodies are available for pickup tonight, Friday, May 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Healthy Communities at 1234 Rossville Ave. in Frankfort or tomorrow, Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. at TPA Park before the race. For those who purchased a shirt, the shirt will be placed in the bag as well. Registration may also be completed prior to the 5K with the registration booth opening at 9 a.m. Cash and card will be accepted for registration.

“We can not thank the community enough for supporting mental health in Clinton County,” the organization released.

Healthy Communities also announced that Ace from the Lafayette Aviators will be in attendance once again this year to cheer on the participants as they cross the finish line.

In conjunction with the 5K, Mental Health America of the Wabash Valley Region and Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets will deliver a proclamation prior to the event beginning at 9:30 a.m. near the pavilion at TPA Park.
