Steven W. Godbey

Steven Wayne Godbey, 69, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home.  He was born on September 20, 1950 in Frankfort to Ezra and Vivian (Adams) Godbey.  He attended Frankfort High School and then went to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked for 30 years for Chrysler in Kokomo.  Steven enjoyed working on old cars, collecting guns, hunting each year in Colorado, and had a real passion for fishing, repairing fishing rods and reels, and making his own lures.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his mother, Vivian of Frankfort; daughter, Selena (Eric) Best of Frankfort; sons, Andrew (Jessica) Godbey of Elwood, Robert (Shauna) Godbey of Greentown; Rodney Godbey of Camden; grandchildren, Montana (Joanna) Best, Autumn Best, Lola Godbey, Hailey Godbey, Riley Godbey, Cohen Godbey, and Corbin Godbey; two great grandchildren, Lillian and Ezra Best; and a niece, Shannon Akers.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Wilma Cottrell.

Visitation will be held, Monday, January 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery.  Military rites will be performed by the Clinton County Honor Guard.
